    Donald Trump, Mueller, News, Russia

The number of Americans who still want Donald Trump in the White House is getting smaller by the day. Thanks to the nightmare of a job he’s doing on the country (and the Republican Party), even the GOP is beginning to turn its back on The Donald and make moves to ensure that the corrupt former reality television star is held accountable for every bit of his horrendous behavior.

While no one could blame Republicans for being bitter about the destruction of their own party, the way conservatives are lashing out is surprising. It turns out, Republicans have joined Democrats in an effort to make sure Trump can’t get out of his Russia scandal. According to Politico, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) has teamed up with Chris Coons (D-DE) to make a public statement urging Trump to back off Special Counsel Robert Mueller — which means Trump might already be trying to do something shady behind the scenes.

The statement, which was released earlier today, demands that the president allow Mueller to continue the Russia probe “without impediment.” The statement reads:

“We have heard from constituents — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents alike — who agree that Special Counsel Robert Mueller should be able to conduct his investigation without interference. This should not be a partisan issue.”

“We urge President Trump to allow the Special Counsel to complete his work without impediment, which is in the best interest of the American people, the President, and our nation.”

It didn’t take much time after this statement was released for people to realize what a big deal it was. Immediately, journalists began questioning the “odd timing” of the statement.

Many questioned Trump’s motives during the Easter break.

Despite how coincidental the timing might be, a spokesperson for Tillis insisted that there was “no one thing or event prompted the release of today’s statement, Senators Tillis and Coons are simply reiterating their position on Special Counsel Mueller.”

Many of the efforts to hold Trump accountable are now being led by Republicans — and that should certainly say something. We are all fed up with this imposter, and it’s about time he paid for his crimes.
